Taking Time to Digest Life with Poise

Creating beauty in your environment starts with creating balance and harmony within your body.

In our hurry-scurry lives today, we can gather great poise by slowing down and taking the time to sniff the roses – literally. Stop and sit in a garden, or even grow your own garden to connect with the earth. Touch the dirt! Spend some time barefoot – I know some folks who are most at home barefoot, and this is a great way to ground your electric fields.

Can we breathe more slowly, allowing peace to trickle in where tensions lurk?

Some things to do to create serenity, which reduces stress:

  • Each day, have a meal in a quiet setting
  • Look up at the trees and skylines
  • Chew food at least a dozen times
  • Rearrange furniture to create a flow
  • Create a peaceful spot with objects that make you happy

Create space in your home, body, and life through Feng Shui. The principles of this ancient art can help you to clear out clutter and get your energy moving again, relieving stress and brightening your home – even encouraging prosperity. Play some meditative music while you clean and rearrange your home. You can also check out this book on Feng Shui for more information.

Perhaps you remember hearing to chew your food well, as your stomach doesn’t have teeth. According to the ancient wisdom of Oriental medicine, a strong digestive fire is the root of our energy and endurance. We can bring digestion and other body systems into balance through acupuncture, herbal remedies, and dietary suggestions. Movements through qi gong and yoga can stimulate your digestive fire, which is the key to manufacturing qi for life! At our clinic, we assess all of your body systems to bring you greater Harmony and Health.

(Tip: green vegetables clean the blood and add fiber to clean the body, which can result in beautiful and radiant skin, and calm our emotions!)

Metaphors and choice of words reflect our lifestyles, and are affirmations for the reality we choose to create. So choose your words wisely, just as I will choose your acupuncture points wisely in your next treatment. So make a point to choose acupuncture! (get it?)
